Chanel Nakkar Glossimer Swatches and Review

Sunday, December 26, 2010

The brightest glossimer offered in Chanel's Spring 2011 Collection is Nakkar, retailing at $27USD $28.50USD due to the new price increase. Glossimers are my all time favorite lip glosses due to their non-sticky textures.  Nakkar is a color fitting for the holiday season more so than Spring in my opinion.  It has a white doe-tip wand with the Chanel logo etched on top.

Ombres Perlees De Chanel Swatches and Review

Saturday, December 25, 2010

The star and most talked about product (besides Black Pearl n/p) of Chanel's Spring 2011 Collection is Ombres Perlees De Chanel Palette.  It has been rumored to be a cream shadow quint but I can assure you it is not.  Ombres Perlees De Chanel is not just your usual powder eyeshadow palette but a chameleon and a definite star in its own right. The palette comes in Chanel's usual black glossy case with the logo on top, a mirror, and two sponge applicators.  There is also a plastic cover on top to protect the eyeshadows from dust.  This retails for $65USD and can be found on Chanel's website.

Now I'll be completely honest, I nearly went insane trying to capture photos of this quint.  Why you ask? Simply because it looks different with each angle change.  I have never seen eyeshadows from any other brand that have the ability to reflect light like this one.  Read on and you'll see what I mean.

Chanel Jersey Rose Rouge Coco and Coquette Rouge Allure Swatches and Review

Thursday, December 23, 2010

There are a total of 4 lipsticks released in Chanel's Spring 2011 Collection, 2 Rouge Coco and 2 Rouge Allure.  My favorite formula is the Rouge Allure because it's glossier and has better slick on the lips. I will review Jersey Rose Rouge Coco and Coquette Rouge Allure first as they seem to be the most popular from this collection.  Both retail for $30USD $32USD due to the price increase and can be found on Chanel's website.

Chanel Espiegle JC Swatches and Review

Espiegle JC retails at $42USD $43USD due to new price increase and has been rumored to be part of Chanel's permanent collection.  When I saw it pop up on line, the limited edition sign was not shown so for now I'll assume it's here to stay.  Espiegle is a peachy blush with subtle gold shimmer.  It reminds me of In Love but the shimmer gives it a more beautiful dimension compared to IL.

Chanel Spring 2011 Collection Swatches and Review

Wednesday, December 22, 2010

On this year's runway, Peter Phillips used pearls as an inspiration to create Chanel's Spring 2011 Collection.  When I think of pearls, I instantly envision luminescent whites, soft glowing pinks, and mysterious, chic black.  This collection captures the pearl's classic elegance to create a timeless color palette for today's modern woman.  I have just received my package from last week's order and am excited to share with you the beauty of Spring 2011. Unfortunately, there's no more sunlight so here I leave you with a sneak peek of what to expect tomorrow...

Tuesday, December 21, 2010

If Cham Pale was too shimmery and well..pale..for you, Stylishly Yours will provide the complete opposite effect.  This collection is also set to launch the same day as Cham Pale on 12/26.  Today I braved the insane crowd for swatches at the local MAC counter.  It was a bit disappointing not everything was available.  I will update the post once it finally releases.  If you're a lover of bold, bright colors with beautiful texture, get ready for a fun ride with Stylishly Yours!

MAC Cham Pale Swatches and Review

Sunday, December 19, 2010

MAC's Cham Pale Collection is set to launch next week on 12/26, the day after Christmas.  Luckily the local MAC counter has some testers out for me to share swatches with you. Please note there is 1 paint pot and all of the lipsticks missing since they weren't available today.  I'll update the post once the collection officially launches. This collection is definitely not for color lovers since the emphasis is on soft neutral tones with lots and lots of shimmer.

MAC's Next Spokeperson for Viva Glam will be Lady Gaga..Again!

Thursday, December 9, 2010

M·A·C confirmed in today’s WWD that Lady Gaga will be their next Viva Glam Spokesperson.

From WWD:
MAC Cosmetics has signed Lady Gaga on for a second year as the spokeswoman for its Viva Glam campaign. Gaga teamed up with Cyndi Lauper for the 2010 campaign, which launched earlier this year. The company said the Gaga-Lauper campaign was the most successful ever for the MAC AIDS Fund, which has raised more than $190 million for the cause since its founding in 1994. For her solo turn in 2011, Gaga was shot by Nick Knight and styled by Nicola Formichetti.

She looks rather ethereal in this picture don't you think? I wonder if the new color is a peachy bronze lipstick as seen from the shot.

MAC Cham Pale and Stylishly Yours Preview Swatches

Tuesday, December 7, 2010

MAC's Cham Pale Collection is all about light, pale pinks and neutrals.  It is similar to the N Collection but not as impressive.  There are new paint pots and lipglees introduced as well as TLC with lavender.  Cham Pale is set to launch in Canada and US on Dec 26th.  For those of you who are impatient like I am, you can now see all the swatches on Yuki's Lazy Channel here.

MAC Stylishly Yours is also set to launch on 12/26 and is the complete opposite of Cham Pale, with a vibrant array of colors.  Those who love bold makeup will love Stylishly Yours. This collection has new pigments, CCBs, and 2 beauty powders.  Complete swatches can be found here, on Yuki's Lazy Channel.

My personal picks? I'm looking forward to the TLC with lavender, Bubble Lounge Lipglee, Get No Kick eye liner, and maybe a paint pot or 2.  Can you tell I'm a Cham Pale gal instead of Stylishly Yours?

What's on your list for these 2 collections?

Chanel Spring 2011 Nail Polish Sneak Preview

I'm not sure about you, but Chanel Spring 2011 Collection has my heart skipping a beat or two.  This collection is simply gorgeous, with inspiration drawn from pearls!  I personally want to grab everything but of course the wallet can't take that bad of a beating.  One of the most talked about product is black pearl nail polish, which graced the runway during Chanel's Spring Fashion Show.  Luckily some wonderful ladies have swatches available for us to drool over before they drop in stores.

Fashion Polish has swatches of Black Pearl and Pearl Drop here.
Sophy Robson has swatches of all Black Pearl, Pearl Drop, Peche Negree and Riva here.

In addition, Vogue France gives us a preview of the limited edition La palette Lumières Byzantines.  There are only 1,500 available and these are cream eyeshadows.  Direct translation - "The middle color which is most clear, is applied under the eyebrow to attract light, while the blush to the right is applied to the cheekbone to highlight. The gold is applied to the whole eyelid, while the lower shadow find its place in the inner corner of the eye. The last shadow, brown metallic, is applied as an eye-liner, on the lower lash line."  Thanks to LaChanelPhile for sharing this info as well.

What do you think so far? I can't wait to see more swatches!

Guerlain Spring 2011 and Dior Spring 2011 Collection Preview and Swatches

Saturday, December 4, 2010

For those of you who love Guerlain and Dior, I'm sure you've seen the beautiful promo pictures from both lines.  Now, you'll be able to get a sneak peak of the products and gorgeous swatches before they hit the stores!

I really do wish I know how to read Chinese, but the swatches alone are making me drool over this collection.  The packaging and design are gorgeous like usual, especially the delicate flower pattens on the beauty powder.  Looks like Guerlain Spring is all about bright colors (corals, pinks, and reds). Yuki's Lazy Channel has amazing high quality pictures and swatches of the entire collection here.  She always has the latest and greatest beauty info to share.

Dior is quite the opposite of Guerlain for Spring, promoting light pastels and neutrals.  I personally am more attracted to Guerlain's color scheme but neutral lovers might love Dior more.  Check out the gray polish, which is completely the opposite of what we'd think of wearing in the springtime.  There's also a gray looking lip gloss with shimmer.  The beautiful pictures and swatches are provided on Urcosme's facebook, found here

What do you think of these spring 2011 collections so far?  Which is your favorite?

Clarins Extra Firming Foundation SPF 15 Review

Thursday, December 2, 2010

Clarins introduces the new Extra Firming Foundation SPF 15 retailing for $42USD.  It is available on the Clarins website with additional information.  There are a total of 9 shades in the range starting with 104 Cream as the lightest shade and 114 Cappucino as the darkest. This foundation is advertised as a "new-generation formula boosted with skin-tightening ingredients and SPF benefits. This rich, comfortable foundation combines two new and powerful plant ingredients with age-control properties. The complexion is smoother, more radiant and appears more even-toned".

Similar to all Clarins products, the foundation comes in a red package with gold letters. Inside the package is a frosty glass jar with a beige pump.  I love Clarins' attention to detail with the small C logo on the side of the cap as well as the red accent inside the top of it.  This is consistent with Clarins' red and gold color theme.
