Make Up For Ever HD Invisible Cover Foundation Review

Wednesday, March 30, 2011

Make Up For Ever HD Invisible Cover Foundation retails for $40USD for 1.01oz and can be found on either MUFE's website or Sephora.  The foundation line offers an impressive range of 25 different shades, ranging from pink and beige to yellow undertones. I was color matched to number 127 (Dark Sand), which is described on the Sephora website as "for medium skin with yellow undertones". For reference, I am an NC25-NC30 from MAC and #5 in Burberry Sheer.  This shade matches my skin color perfectly.

The foundation is oil-free and does not contain SPF.

Battle of the Moisturizers: Creme de La Mer vs. Nivea Creme

Sunday, March 27, 2011

Creme de La Mer is a luxurious moisturizer that is coveted by many.  It was created by NASA aerospace physicist, Dr. Max Huber  to help heal his burned skin from a lab accident.  The creme is costly because it contains a specific seaweed taken off the north coast of California, that can only be harvested twice a year. There have been many discussions on the effectiveness of the creme and whether or not it's truly worth the high price.  During my research on the creme, I found several forums touting Nivea Creme as the cheaper and better version of Creme de la Mer.  Here I share with you my thoughts and recommendations on both.

My Winter HG Skincare Routine

Friday, March 18, 2011

One of my biggest struggles is still adult acne.  I have not been blessed with the easiest skin to deal with ever since I was a child.  I would often get rashes, freckles, and acne while my skin is also extremely sensitive at the same time.  Add to the mix is my skin's allergy to sunscreen, which causes instant deep cystic acne.  I have tried countless skincare products (high end & drugstore) throughout the years to battle acne, dryness, oiliness, and mild rosacea.

After many many years of searching, I can say I have finally found my HG skincare routine for the fall/winter.   Here I share with you what has worked for me.  However, please do keep in mind that everyone's skin is different so what works for me may or may not work for you.

Battle Of The Lip Balms Part II

Friday, March 11, 2011

For the past several months, I have been trying out different lip balms to sooth my dry lips.  It's not often that I get chapped lips but when I do, it's painful and highly uncomfortable. All of the products below were purchased due to high recommendations from blogs/makeupalley/forums.  I have listed them in order of prices - from high to low. Also for those who missed my previous battle of the lip balms post, be sure to check it out here.
