Guerlain Terracotta Makeup Palette Swatches and Review

Wednesday, October 26, 2011

Whenever I travel abroad, I always make sure to plan a trip to the local DFS Galleria. I love the travel exclusive palettes as well as the tax-free prices.  One of my favorite finds on the latest trip is Guerlain's Terracotta Makeup Palette. I was on a hunt for Dior's Asia Exclusive bronzer but caught a glimpse of this beauty in the corner of my eyes.

Update: You can now purchase this from Nordstrom!

Weekend Edition: Tis the Season to be Shopping?

Saturday, October 22, 2011

October seems to be the new holiday month this year.  Everywhere I go, I see Christmas decorations, cards, and even reminders of what to buy for your loved ones. Long gone are the days of waiting in line for Black Friday. It seems like most companies are launching products much earlier to entice consumers into spending sooner.  Here are a couple of items you can look forward to this weekend:

Lancome launched a festive holiday collection with 4 new lipsticks with their corresponding nail polish shades.  I like the design of the face powder but found it a tad chalky. The nail polish ranges from brown-pink to fiery red.

Guerlain Holiday 2011 Collection: Parure De Nuit Swatches and Review

Sunday, October 9, 2011

Guerlain's Holiday 2011 Collection is slowly trickling into stores such as Nordstroms, Neiman Marcus, and Saks.  One of the most eye-catching items from this collection is the limited edition Parure De Nuit Powder retailing for $67USD.

Chanel Holiday 2011 Collection Swatches and Review Part II

Saturday, October 8, 2011

Besides the lip products and eyeliner, I also checked out Chanel 2011 Holiday Collection's face products.  The only item missing from the tester was the loose powder in Feerie. I saw the nail polish in Black Satin and Rouge Carat but didn't have a chance to try them out. There is also the Ombres Contraste Duo in Noir-Ivore as well.  The lip products and eyeliner from this collection are reviewed here.

One of the star items in this collection is the Lumiere Sculptee de Chanel Highlighter. The design alone is drool-worthy.  I gasp with excitement when I saw the product in person.  The best part is that the intricate design is not an over-spray! There is a glittery over-spray on the top layer that quickly goes away after 1-2 brush swipes.

Chanel Holiday 2011 Collection Swatches and Review Part I

Chanel's Holiday 2011 Collection finally arrived at my local Nieman Marcus counter.  I was ecstatic to see the collection on Chanel's website last night, but still want to see the items in person before committing.  I went to the counter with only foundation and no lipstick, blush, or eyeshadow in preparation to test out the products. Here I share some thoughts and swatches with you.

Dior d'Or Collection Vernis Swatches and Review

Friday, October 7, 2011

This year, Dior is the first brand to release their holiday collection at Nordstrom counters.  The Les Rouges Or Collection consists of 4 new nail polish shades, 4 lipsticks, a quint, a holiday deluxe palette, a mini brush set, and a holiday eye palette.  I had tweeted pictures of the collection here and  here. Out of the entire collection, I had my eyes set on the new nail varnishes. These retail for $22USD a bottle.

The Land Down Under

Wednesday, October 5, 2011

What do Hugh Jackman, Eric Bana, and Sam Worthington all have in common? They all come from a beautiful country called Australia. What? Did you think I was going to say they're all buff and hot? Yes yes, that as well!  Although I wasn't able to see any of these men in person, I did have the opportunity to spend some time in the Land Down Under. It is a truly beautiful country with amazing natural landscapes.  Australia is also diverse with a variety of different cultures, languages, and culinary offerings. Here I share with you a very small snapshot of the country's beauty.

Beautiful cherry blossom in Sydney.
